Responsibilities
The 2nd Engineer will contribute to executing daily operational tasks safely and efficiently onboard the vessel, supporting operational performance and upholding a strong safety culture. The role includes compliance with company and regulatory procedures, collaborating closely with onboard colleagues, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. A handover period before embarkation may be required.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold all relevant certificates, endorsements, and qualifications required for the position and vessel. They should demonstrate commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence, and possess relevant experience on similar vessels. Strong teamwork and communication skills in a multicultural environment are required. Familiarity with company procedures is preferred, or willingness to learn. Some vessel-specific requirements may apply, including possible Scandinavian language proficiency for Norwegian-flagged vessels and specific certification levels.
