Job summary
Seeking a senior technical leader to drive AI strategy and enablement in a retail technology company. The role involves co-authoring AI strategy with executive leadership, leading AI adoption across functions, and directly influencing the company's transformation into an AI mature organization from 2026 onwards. The position requires a blend of strategic vision and hands-on technical expertise in modern AI tools and frameworks.

Responsibilities
Lead the AI strategy and prioritization to identify high-impact AI opportunities aligned with business outcomes. Shape organizational design for AI capability including training, governance, and team structures. Develop and manage an internal AI community extending beyond technology teams to all company functions. Personally prototype and deliver initial versions of internal AI tools or workflows before handing them off. Serve as the primary technical voice on AI adoption and progress to company leadership, providing transparent metrics and updates. Implement a pull-based operating model where AI resources are provided centrally but owned and operated by individual teams.
Qualifications
Proven experience in senior technical leadership roles such as staff/principal engineer, technical director, or equivalent with a record of setting impactful direction rather than just executing plans. Ability to communicate complex technical and business trade-offs effectively with executives and hands-on development teams. Demonstrable hands-on expertise with modern AI technologies including LLM APIs, prompt architecture, and agent frameworks. Experience managing cross-functional programs, workshops, or communities involving technical and non-technical stakeholders. High degree of autonomy and confidence to define and lead initiatives amid ambiguity. Professional fluency in English is required.
