This role leads a backend and platform engineering team focused on delivering a key software product in the energy transition domain. Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of approximately 10-11 engineers, conducting one-to-one meetings, setting growth goals, and fostering a supportive and high-performing culture. Manage hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations. Oversee delivery to maintain a consistent release schedule, coordinate cross-team feature and dependency management, and proactively remove blockers. Track team capacity and plan resource allocation considering the impact of AI tools on productivity. Interface between engineering and product teams to align roadmaps and backlogs and represent the team in broader product and service delivery discussions. Promote engineering excellence and adoption of AI-assisted development and participate in architectural decision-making.
Qualifications
Experience in software engineering with a background in distributed systems, integration platforms, or SaaS environments. Demonstrated people or team management experience with ownership of outcomes. Strong technical foundation enabling credible discussions with senior engineers. Experience with Agile methodologies, including sprint and release management. Effective communication across engineering and product teams. Preferred qualifications include experience with messaging systems, product management skills, cloud-native and Kubernetes technologies, multi-site or global engineering organizations, energy or grid domain expertise, and familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools.
