This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of data centre infrastructure within an AI-focused technology environment. The engineer will manage infrastructure projects, oversee critical systems monitoring, handle incident management and customer support, and drive automation and continuous operational improvements.

Responsibilities
Manage and deliver infrastructure projects including installations and upgrades. Support deployments and operational tasks across multiple data centres, adapting to operational demands and providing specialist assistance as needed. Monitor critical systems such as power, cooling, and network connectivity to ensure data centre stability and scalability. Respond to critical incidents, participate in shift and on-call support. Handle escalated customer support issues according to SLAs, investigate major incidents, and recommend long-term solutions. Design and implement automation scripts and tools to optimize operations, collaborate on capacity planning, and drive infrastructure improvements to enhance service availability and reliability.
Qualifications
Minimum of 4 years experience in data centre environments, with expertise in server administration, virtualization, and networking protocols. Proficiency with automation tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, or Python. Hands-on experience in a technical organisation with strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Possession of advanced technical certifications is preferred. Ability to make informed decisions in complex, ambiguous environments and influence stakeholders without formal authority. Highly organized with a strong customer service orientation and experience in large-scale data centre operations is an advantage.
