Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and validate Linux kernel patches to enhance security and reliability of enterprise systems. Investigate upstream kernel changes and backport fixes to older Linux distributions. Address compatibility issues between kernel versions and target platforms. Build and test kernel sources in reproducible environments. Enhance patching and build workflows with automation using Python, Go, or Shell. Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly with thorough validation. Document technical decisions and participate in code reviews to ensure quality and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
Proven expertise in Linux kernel development, including patching, backporting, and debugging. Strong C programming skills and experience with Linux development tools like Git and GNU build system. Familiarity with building Linux kernels and distribution packages. Proficiency in automation scripting languages such as Python, Go, or Shell. Experience with AI-assisted coding tools and strong validation practices. Effective communicator with ability to explain technical trade-offs and work independently with high attention to detail. English language proficiency at intermediate level or above. Additional experience with RPM/SRPM or Debian packaging, security patching, CVE analysis, container and CI tools, or kernel testing is a plus.
