Responsibilities

Manage and supervise medical writing staff, including workload assignments, performance evaluation, hiring, and career development. Oversee the production of medical writing deliverables, ensuring quality and adherence to standards and timelines. Assist staff in the presentation and interpretation of complex scientific data. Develop, review, and maintain standard operating procedures and work process documents. Represent the medical writing department in client presentations and collaborate on proposals and budgets with business development teams. Develop and implement training programs to ensure team competence.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a science-related field required; advanced degrees (PharmD, PhD, or Masters) preferred. At least 5 years of relevant medical publications writing experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, clinical research organizations, or medical communications. Demonstrated leadership experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Strong skills in medical writing, project management, staff mentoring, understanding of publication guidelines, and excellent communication and presentation abilities.
