Job summary

Seeking an experienced military liaison officer to support NATO training exercises in Stavanger, Norway. This role involves embedding with the training audience headquarters to provide subject matter expertise, facilitate coordination between training participants and affected nations' military representatives, develop and adapt exercise scenarios, and ensure the achievement of training objectives. The candidate will interact with senior military leaders, contribute to military planning tasks, and assist in exercise control and documentation management throughout the exercise cycle.

Responsibilities

Provide military liaison expertise while embedded within training headquarters to represent the affected nation's military perspective. Act as the key contact between training audience and affected nation military representatives. Coordinate responses to requests and queries, analyze scenario documentation, and recommend improvements. Assist in developing operational-level plans and concepts of operations related to the exercise scenario. Support training audience planning activities and monitor exercise execution, adapting scenarios as needed to meet objectives. Facilitate meetings, produce agendas and minutes, and provide timely feedback to exercise control staff. Contribute to updating exercise documentation and advise on NATO doctrinal and procedural matters. Participate in daily coordination meetings and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years experience in the past 10 years briefing senior military leaders or decision makers in a national or multinational military environment. At least 3 years experience conducting military planning tasks within national or international operational-level headquarters. Experience working in a national or NATO strategic or operational command with at least the rank of OF-4. Demonstrated operational military headquarters experience. Evidence of military planning training throughout military career. Proficiency in business-level English. Valid national or NATO Secret security clearance is required.
