An experienced Mine Manager role focused on overseeing underground mining operations at a copper mining site in northern Norway. Responsibilities
Manage and direct all underground mining operations to achieve production and safety targets. Develop operational plans, budgets, and schedules. Lead construction and maintenance of underground infrastructure. Ensure compliance with all relevant mining regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies. Build and mentor a multidisciplinary team to promote a strong safety culture. Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions as needed. Manage contractors to optimize performance and cost. Implement new technologies and best practices to enhance efficiency and sustainability. Prepare operational reports for senior management. Engage with stakeholders including regulators, local communities, and suppliers.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related field; advanced degrees or professional certifications are a plus. At least 15 years of progressive experience in mining operations with a minimum of 5 years in a senior management or supervisory role. Strong knowledge of Norwegian mining regulations, occupational health and safety, and environmental management. Proven leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Experience managing budgets, projects, and operational risks. Familiarity with local cultural and environmental issues and experience working in Nordic operating environments is advantageous.
