Job summary
We are looking for an experienced Mobile Engineer skilled in React Native to join a fully remote team based in Norway. This role focuses on developing and enhancing a cross-platform mobile application for iOS and Android that supports secure, decentralized communication features such as messaging, voice and video calls, media sharing, device pairing, and identity backup. The position involves close collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams to create high-quality mobile experiences grounded in peer-to-peer technology and privacy.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a cross-platform peer-to-peer mobile app from implementation to release, ensuring reliability and security across iOS and Android platforms. Build and refine features including messaging, calls, media sharing, device pairing, and identity backup. Implement user interfaces integrated with on-device peer-to-peer core APIs. Integrate native mobile functionalities like push notifications, camera access, biometric authentication, and background processing. Profile and optimize app performance focusing on startup time, chat sessions, media handling, battery usage, and network consumption. Write and maintain unit and end-to-end tests to ensure app stability. Support releases through continuous integration, debugging, and crash reporting. Participate in code reviews, uphold engineering best practices, and collaborate with distributed teams to enhance overall user experience.
Qualifications
Proven professional experience with React Native and mobile app development, including strong JavaScript skills and knowledge of ES6+. Experience with Redux and Redux-Saga for state management and asynchronous workflows. Skilled in integrating WebSockets and RESTful APIs. Familiarity with performance optimization, debugging, and testing for mobile applications. Comfortable working independently in a remote team environment and collaborating across disciplines. Knowledge of native development languages such as Swift and Kotlin, and tools like Xcode and Android Studio, is advantageous. Experience with peer-to-peer frameworks or decentralized technologies is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication in English are required.
