Responsibilities
Manage all programs and activities within the planning services division, setting project goals and implementation strategies. Supervise and train staff, ensuring compliance with legal and quality standards. Prepare budgets and improve service delivery through innovation and community engagement. Provide support to planning commissions with reports and policy recommendations. Coordinate multi-jurisdictional plans and infrastructure development, participate in public meetings and development reviews. Represent the department at various local, regional, and national meetings.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in land use planning, urban planning, landscape architecture, engineering, or a closely related field preferred. Minimum nine years of progressively responsible experience with at least two years in a supervisory role. Valid driver's license required. Membership in professional planning organizations is advantageous. Strong skills in data analysis, policy development, communication, and staff management are essential.
