Job summary
This role involves supporting and advising on global Wired Drill Pipe strategies to ensure safe and efficient deployment of downhole assets. The position is highly customer-facing and requires deep expertise in drill string operations and practical knowledge of drilling activities. The advisor works closely with drilling operators and contractors to evaluate equipment, investigate failures, and recommend improvements for operational reliability and asset use, mainly serving key clients in the Norwegian offshore sector with some international travel.

Responsibilities
Provide expert technical guidance on drill string performance and best practices; advise on pipe selection, configurations, deployment, and risk management; lead investigations into failures, fatigue, and wear to identify root causes and corrective measures; collaborate with customers to assess and improve equipment performance and operational procedures; support fleet management including inspection, maintenance, and long-term planning; promote use of asset management tools to enhance decision-making; give feedback to engineering and product teams on field experience and design improvements; conduct workshops, technical reviews, training, and support business development; act as liaison among customers, operations, and technical teams to ensure best practice application and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
Extensive experience in drill pipe operations, drilling, fleet management, or asset integrity; degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related field; strong understanding of drill string mechanics, inspection standards, and failure modes; ability to analyze equipment failures and provide practical recommendations; excellent communication and customer engagement skills with ability to influence operational changes; professional English proficiency; willingness to travel; prior experience with drilling contractors or operators, and knowledge of Wired Drill Pipe technology or subsea drilling is advantageous.
