Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to the development and enhancement of core search and indexing components. Research and apply advances in search infrastructure, data structures, and retrieval algorithms. Collaborate with partners and product teams to understand needs and influence the technical roadmap for search capabilities. Serve as a subject matter expert across multiple search domains, providing guidance and driving continuous improvements. Manage projects autonomously from conception through deployment, including technical design and peer collaboration.
Qualifications
Extensive experience leading engineering projects focused on search infrastructure and distributed systems, building scalable, high-performance search platforms. Strong expertise with search and indexing technologies such as Lucene or Solr and advanced knowledge of Java programming including concurrency and modern language features. Proven ability to define and align long-term technical strategies across teams. Excellent communication skills suited for distributed and collaborative environments. Prior experience mentoring senior engineers and working with large-scale search or data systems is required. Familiarity with open source workflows is a plus.
