Job summary
This role involves supporting a Nordic power trading desk by managing and validating profits & losses, positions, and exposure across various financial and physical power contracts. It requires strong knowledge of Nordic and European power markets and experience with structured power transactions, valuation, and risk control processes. The position collaborates closely with multiple internal teams and focuses on improving automation and reporting tools.

Responsibilities
Manage daily P&L and position control for Nordic power products, including futures and physical contracts. Build and monitor forward price curves and reconcile trade and pricing exposures. Oversee valuation and risk control of structured transactions such as PPAs and BESS. Conduct reconciliations of trading activity and settlements. Monitor risk limits and escalate breaches. Support month-end and year-end accounting reconciliation. Enhance reporting and control automation using Excel, VBA, Python, and SQL. Lead implementation of new products, controls, and market expansions. Investigate significant P&L issues and guide less experienced team members.
Qualifications
University degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Finance or related field. At least 5 years of middle office or risk experience within commodities trading, focusing on Nordic and European power markets. Strong expertise in power market products, risk management, and valuation methodologies for PPAs and BESS. Proficient with Excel, VBA, Python, and/or SQL. Experience with trade support, market risk, credit risk, and finance collaboration. Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills. Must have legal right to work in the location of the role.
