Job summary
This role involves supporting NATO's Joint Warfare Centre in Stavanger, Norway, by providing specialized expertise in representing and managing the air strategy of the nation affected in NATO exercises. Responsibilities
Responsibilities include acting as the subject matter expert for the affected nation's air strategy during exercises, advising on operational and strategic air asset use, ensuring air power posture coherence within the scenario, coordinating military air operations, analyzing scenario air situations, developing operational concepts and plans, supporting training audience planning, generating realistic exercise materials, advising in meetings, documenting and updating scenario information, monitoring training activities to provide timely feedback, attending coordination meetings, making recommendations to exercise control, contributing to improvements in exercise processes, and maintaining familiarity with relevant NATO air and strategic publications.
Qualifications
Candidates must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Staff College education and demonstrate a minimum of three years within the last ten years of service at the rank of OF5 or higher in a national Air Force or Naval Aviation. Experience required includes senior officer roles in operational or strategic headquarters, leading operational planning in air operations, briefing senior leaders in aeronautical environments, and practical knowledge of military-civil aeronautical interactions. Business-level English proficiency and a valid National or NATO Secret security clearance are mandatory.
