Job summary
Seeking an experienced Senior Backend Software Engineer to own critical components of an identity and access management platform. The role involves designing, developing, and operating secure, scalable services primarily using Rust and Kotlin in a cloud environment. You will collaborate cross-functionally to shape product direction and mentor peers while applying expertise in authentication, authorization, and multi-tenant security architectures.

Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and operation of core identity platform features including token introspection, external identity provider federation, and audit logging pipelines. Establish technical standards and best practices within your domain. Translate ambiguous requirements into robust, scalable, and secure systems at scale. Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer success teams to influence product strategy. Mentor engineers to elevate code quality, reliability, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of production experience in Rust or Kotlin within SaaS environments, with the ability to learn additional languages. Proven ownership of business-critical services from design through deployment and operation. Strong practical knowledge of authentication and authorization protocols including OAuth2/OIDC, token management, and multi-tenancy. Experience managing large-scale cloud deployments on AWS, GCP, or Azure and working with Kubernetes. Proficient in analyzing complex system issues using logs, traces, and metrics. Familiarity with AI coding tools and the discernment to effectively integrate their assistance into software development workflows.
