Responsibilities
Lead development initiatives to enhance search engine capabilities, focusing on delivering high-speed and relevant search experiences. Design and implement new search features, improve existing functionality, and resolve complex bugs. Collaborate with a global team of engineers on vector search technologies and actively contribute to code quality and architectural decisions. Engage with the broader community through issue management and code reviews, maintaining standards for efficient and idiomatic Java implementation.
Qualifications
Experience implementing vector similarity techniques on large-scale search platforms using algorithms like HNSW or IVF. Proficient in core Java programming including concurrency and data structures. Able to autonomously manage projects from design through implementation and collaborate effectively in distributed and asynchronous team environments. Familiarity with various data storage systems and using AI tools to optimize software development is advantageous. Prior involvement with open source projects and cross-functional leadership experience are beneficial but not mandatory.
