Job summary
Seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a developing engineering organization in Oslo focused on creating software and data platforms for the global energy industry. This role centers on improving developer workflows and standards, particularly in integrating AI agents into software development processes. Responsibilities
Define and implement technical standards for software repositories including build, test, lint, environment setup, and documentation requirements. Develop and operate automated audits to evaluate repository compliance and publish regular scorecards. Lead remediation efforts in pilot repositories and create reference implementations for adoption. Specify and rollout AI agent integration conventions and tools across engineering teams. Integrate developer tools with existing platforms such as source control, chat, issue tracking, and feature management. Collaborate with DevOps and Platform Engineering teams to ensure alignment of tools and workflows. Represent Developer Experience in cross-functional discussions on architecture, tooling, and hiring.
Qualifications
Extensive industry experience in software engineering with demonstrable senior-level hands-on technical contributions. Strong knowledge in software build systems, test infrastructure, and local development setups across multiple languages and frameworks. Practical experience with AI-assisted development workflows and integration of AI tools into professional software development. Excellent written communication skills for producing clear technical documentation and audit reports. Proven ability to work autonomously, prioritize improvements, and deliver measurable outcomes. Experience building and operating internal developer platforms with peer adoption. Background in security, reliability, or compliance engineering and understanding of their interaction with developer tooling. Contributions to relevant open-source projects are a plus.
