Job summary
This role supports NATO exercises in Stavanger, Norway by providing expert knowledge and coordination on SPACE domain operations. The Space Subject Matter Expert collaborates closely within the Opposing Force team to develop and execute realistic SPACE-related scenarios that challenge allied forces and contribute to their readiness. The position requires participation in workshops, exercise scripting, and operational support to ensure training objectives are met at strategic and operational levels.

Responsibilities
Develop and coordinate SPACE incidents and effects in joint military exercises, ensuring strategic and operational relevance. Support scripting workshops, integrating SPACE operations guidance into the exercise plan and assisting other teams in understanding SPACE implications. During exercise execution, synchronize SPACE actions within the Opposing Force and with exercise command cells, advise leadership on SPACE warfare matters, and provide timely updates and feedback. Participate in planning meetings, crisis actions, and support targeting and battle damage assessment processes related to SPACE domain activities.
Qualifications
Minimum four years of recent military experience in the operational SPACE domain at a rank comparable to OF3/OF4 (exceptions considered for strong expertise). Deep understanding of NATO SPACE operations and operational planning procedures. Prior involvement in NATO or national operational exercises. Higher education degree or equivalent military education in a relevant field. Proficiency in business-level English is required. Valid National or NATO Secret security clearance is mandatory. This is an on-site role based in Stavanger, Norway, with occasional travel to NATO sites.
