Job summary

Seeking a subject matter expert with extensive experience in special operations forces and operational intelligence to contribute to NATO training exercises. The role supports large-scale joint operational training events by simulating opposing force actions and refining exercise scenarios to enhance alliance readiness. This position requires strong analytical skills, operational planning knowledge, and experience with military intelligence tools within an international defense context. Work is onsite in Stavanger, Norway, with some travel to NATO locations possible.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Opposition Force cell to develop and script scenarios simulating opposing forces in NATO joint exercises. Contribute special operations expertise during planning workshops, script development, and exercise execution phases. Coordinate activities with exercise control staff and ensure alignment with overall exercise plans. Support dynamic scenario adjustments during exercises and attend relevant boards and crisis action teams as needed. Assist with training audience support to meet special operations training objectives and provide feedback on exercise content.

Qualifications

A minimum of 8 years' recent military or civilian experience in operational intelligence or special forces, including at least 3 years at mid to senior levels such as Special Agent in Charge or senior analyst roles. Experience with NATO or national military/intelligence agencies and knowledge of special operations planning processes. Proficient in link analysis software (I-Base, I2) and Microsoft Office suite. Higher education in intelligence, law, international affairs, or equivalent operational experience. Must hold a valid national or NATO Secret security clearance. Business-level proficiency in English is required.
