Job summary
An established role supporting NATO training exercises by providing expertise in Special Operations Forces (SOF). The position involves simulating opposing forces (OPFOR) during operational-level exercises to enhance NATO force interoperability and readiness. The role requires collaboration with multiple NATO bodies and contributing to scenario development, exercise scripting, and operational planning in Stavanger, Norway.

Responsibilities
You will act as a subject matter expert for Special Operations Forces within NATO joint exercises. Responsibilities include developing incident storylines with SOF effects, scripting and editing exercise scenarios using Joint Exercise Management Module software, coordinating with other exercise control cells, supporting dynamic scenario changes during execution, and contributing to operational planning documents. You will also liaise with training audiences to assist their achievement of SOF-specific training objectives and participate in various exercise workshops, boards, and crisis teams as needed.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years in operational intelligence or Special Forces roles within the last 12 years, including at least 3 years in senior positions equivalent to OF2-OF4 military rank or civilian equivalents in intelligence or special forces domains. Experience with link analysis tools such as I-Base and I2 is required, along with knowledge of NATO planning processes and strategic-level understanding of SOF/hybrid threats. Prior NATO assignments or deployments in relevant operational SOF roles are expected. Proficiency in English and standard office software is essential. Valid national or NATO Secret security clearance is mandatory.
