Job summary
This role supports NATO's Joint Warfare Centre in Stavanger, Norway, by representing United Nations (UN) missions during large-scale military training exercises. The representative provides expert knowledge of current UN operations, coordinates with political stakeholders, and ensures realistic integration of the UN perspective to enhance interoperability and training quality.

Responsibilities
Key duties include providing subject matter expertise on recent and scenario UN operations, developing a Concept of Operations for UN involvement in exercises, coordinating with relevant political figures to ensure unified representation, producing authentic UN documents for training, serving as a political liaison for the training audience concerning UN matters, reviewing and analysing training plans for UN impacts, monitoring training outputs to suggest exercise adaptations, and staying current with relevant UN publications.
Qualifications
Candidates should have at least three years of recent senior-level experience within NATO or UN organizations relating to the African region, a university degree or equivalent higher education, proficiency in business-level English, and a valid national or NATO Secret security clearance. The role requires availability for exercise phases lasting 5 to 15 days on-site in Stavanger, Norway, with potential adhoc remote work and extended hours as needed.
